RI Wedding Photographer | Cherie'lin & Scott's Backyard Wedding

Some of you might know that I teach photography - I’ve been teaching at the Mystic Museum of Art since 2012 thanks to Cherie’lin, who was on staff in their education department at the time, and invited to me join the faculty there when their previous photography teacher resigned. Cherie’lin has since moved on to a new career, though we stayed connected on social media, and I was surprised and so excited when she reached out to me last year to photograph her and Scott’s backyard wedding at Scott’s parents home in Jamestown, RI.

Since Cherie’lin and Scott live out of state, we communicated about the wedding over phone and email, and I was so excited when she shared some of the special details that she was putting together for their wedding, including her collection of Blue Willow china, which she started collecting because of her grandmothers and included in the wedding to honor them. There were also other touches to honor other loved ones too. The day was full of so much joy, laughter, and love - even the family dogs were included. It was a beautiful late summer Rhode Island wedding.

It is always an honor when an old friend reaches out to me to capture their special moments, and for that reason and so many more, getting to photograph Cherie’lin and Scott’s day was the perfect start to my fall wedding season last year!
