Preparing for Your Boudoir Session
Your boudoir session is all about celebrating you: your confidence, your story, and the version of yourself you’re ready to embrace. To help you feel relaxed, prepared, and excited for your time in front of the camera, here are a few simple tips to make your session go as smoothly as possible.
Come Camera-Ready
Please arrive with your hair and makeup fully done exactly as you’d like to appear in your photos. Whether that’s a natural glow or full glam, choose a look that makes you feel confident and beautiful.
Hands + Nails
Your hands will naturally appear in many of your photos.
If your nails are painted, please make sure they are fresh and not chipped. Neutral tones are timeless, but choose whatever feels like you.
Remove Any Visible Tags
If your lingerie or outfits have tags that might peek through, go ahead and trim them off before your session.
Bring an Open Mind
Arrive with a positive attitude, a willingness to try new poses, and trust that I will guide you every step of the way. You do not need to know how to pose—I’ve got you.
What to Wear + Bring
Outfits
Pick pieces you feel confident and comfortable in. Options could include:
Lingerie sets (bralette + panty or bra + thong), bodysuits, a robe or something sheer, etc.
Bring a couple options if you’re unsure - I’ll help you choose what photographs best.
Undergarments
Try to avoid wearing tight clothing right before your session, as it can leave lines on your skin. Opt for something loose and comfy on the way in.
Accessories
Jewelry, heels, scarves, jackets, and any props that make your session feel uniquely you are all welcome.
The Night Before
A little prep goes a long way:
Stay hydrated
Get a good night’s rest
Avoid too much sun exposure or spray tans right before the session
Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize
The Morning Of
Eat a light meal (you’ll need energy!)
Give yourself extra time so you don’t feel rushed
Double-check your outfits, accessories, and any personal items you want to bring
Most Important: Trust Yourself
Boudoir is for every body, every age, and every stage of life. You don’t need to “look a certain way” to deserve beautiful photos, you just need to show up as you are. I’ll guide your posing, lighting, and expression so you feel supported and empowered throughout the entire experience. Your only job is to relax, have fun, and let yourself shine.
Arriving at the Studio
Please plan on arriving about 10-15 minutes before your scheduled session time to allow time for parking and getting up to my studio.
My studio is located at 300 State Street (the Dewart Building), Suite 419, New London, CT. Please note, the street numbers are slightly out of order and go 304, 300, 308.
PARKING: There is generally street parking available nearby the building, or if downtown is especially busy, there is a municipal parking lot at 11 Eugene O'Neill Drive, which is a quick 5-7 minute walk to the building.
ARRIVAL: When you arrive at 300 State Street, walk into the vestibule and dial 419 (four-one-nine) on the door buzzer system to be let in.
Take the elevators or stairs up to the 4th floor, and turn right. Take the first right past the bathrooms and the studio will be the first door on your left.
Your online gallery will be ready by the evening of December 10th, and you will be able to choose the 3 included images you want and purchase any additional images or products then.
One Last Piece of Advice: Give yourself permission to feel amazing.
This experience is meant to uplift you, not add pressure. Try to let go of any self-criticism, trust the process, and allow yourself to be fully present. When you show up as your authentic self—laughing, relaxed, and open—that’s when the magic truly happens.
